beausejour ...layby?
« on: April 20, 2006, 06:01:16 pm »
Hiya guys...and to the old timers I'm sorry if this question has come up before - i did a search and couldn't find much.. :-[

Going for the 2nd time - first was in the back of a bedford rascal in 2000 - no real memories.

Now going under my own steam and have arranged camping last min through a travel agent.

Got the itiniairy and it says camping "beausejour layby".

Whats the layby bit mean? Is it an overflow of the main beausejour site?  :(

ta

Lay by is a nice French way of saying campsite but without permanent facilities or marked pitches - basically a field(s) with portable toilets / showers.

Your BSJ ticket will let you camp where you like in that campsite.

BSJ now has a lot of toilet/shower blocks. We stayed there last year and found it to be fine. A longish walk to the start straight but we take bikes so it's no problem. Also take our own heated electric shower as the campsite ones tend to be cold, with years of experience you like to take lifes luxuries.
We will be there from thursday morning, what time are you there?
Never argue with an idiot, they'll only drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I do have a scarifier cartridge for the 35S I use on the Lawns here in Blighty.  But I don't  really have space in the car for the 35S.  Also Mid June is not not the best time to scarify.

Even though I say so myself  the Lawns here are looking pretty good.  I gave them a dose of Lawn food at Easter and then a nice mowing and a quick going over with the Scarifer on Saturday.

If anyone here has any pull with Thames Water  may be they can let me know I've been waiting almost a year for them to come around to raise the Water Meter and Stop Cock covers so I can level the Lawn.

Never did get round to visiting you last year Lawn mower man, we will be in the field behind the speedchills barn. Handy for access as there's a dirt track through the woods to avoid the main entrance traffic.
