Quite possibly true! The high sugar content has actually killed several althletes who have used it to recover quickly. 8 cans is enough to kill a fit and healthy man!! Quite shocking for something you can buy in the uk supermarkets!

My pupils (in their early 20s) tell me it has excellent effects when mixed with vodka  ;). But yes, it's banned in France.

Red Bull itself isn't for sale in France, but there are several other similar energy drinks on the shelf, including Carrefiour's own brand which tastes exactly the same (especially when mixed with Tequila and Vodka!!)

a good alternative ( i think) is Coca Cola Black. Little can (red bull size) of coke infused with caffiene, kept me going on my recent jaunt to Reims after a silly early out of bed start. I got my supply in Carrefore (SP)

Red Bull gives you wind.
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

Coca Cola Black? WTF? I never seen it over here, where we've Cherry Coke , Vanilla Coke, Citrus Coke, etc., etc.
IMO Red Bull tastes like sh**t anyway.  The only people you see drinking it over here are skateboarder mallrats and soccer moms in bars getting hammered on Jagerbombs.

Huh? Interesting, must not have marketed it yet in Ohio.  But as mark Twain once famously said "When the world ends I want to be in Cincinnati because everything happens a year later there" ;D

Andy,

I've always got a tin of RB on ice for you fella, you know that.

In answer to the question you cant buy RB in France, we generally take 2 crates as it goes down well when mixed with all sorts of scary stuff.

Current Thursday tipple is as follows -

Take one large tumbler not glass)

Inch and a half of Mr Smirnoffs finest goes in first

Add a couple of inches of Red Bull

Add another couple of inches of Champagne

Fill whatever gap is left with Specail Brew

Add Ice to taste !!

Now there are several important things to keep in mind

1. Make the second before you finish the first one

2. Forget about the third it wont happen

3. Pre buy and pre chill it all in UK, pack it all in your ice boxes so that when you get cracking it is ice cold.

Enjoy

Jem

Andy, we're on pitch 911 ( what a number) in Houx close to the entrance by Houx Annexe, try to get around on Thursday afternoon for a tipple.
