just a small thing on ebay.

With a starting bid a bit high, I think I'll have to look for a few coins that have fallen down the sofa.

This is what I've bought Mr Termite
http://www.dpreview.com/news/0511/05110103nikon18-200vr.asp
But no telling him now, it's a surprise.  That's my tax rebate gone then!
The last couple of camera I've bought via the internet have come from France - is it any cheaper over there, and iIs there a decent and/or cheap camera shop at Le Mans?

Decent, yes, cheap, no.  My guy is a Nikon specialist though so I can talk real turkey with them.  The prices are pretty much on a par with the UK.  I find Pixmania (French company but with a UK site) pretty reasonable for internet prices.  On the other hand, I paid about £50 less than Aperture Photographic are asking for said lens.  The critical bit was that they had one (they also had a D40 which I had trouble keeping my hands off....)

For mini lovers

and on the hour, the car revs and comes out the garage and wizzes around the clock.

Stupid, but fun.

Thanks Termie.  I use Pixmania, they're very good and its odd that they ship from France, and throw in an adapter plug, even if it doesn't need one.

But a pocket sized manual in English would be useful.  My first real camera had 5 knobs.  The DSLR has 17 plus several menus - I'm easly lost.

I download mine (manuals) from the internet when I'm too lazy to translate but not exactly pocket sized!  The manufacturers will often cough one up though.
