Haven't heard from Paddy yet, think he will call firstthing when he finds something from the ACO in his maibox... Haven't been home yet. Didn't go home last night as I was dropped off by Beerman, coming back from a Riders on the Storm gig. So there might be a surprise when I come home tonight

Rusty,
Happy Birthday you old comudgeon!
Is that for today (Friday) or yesterday?
Anyway, Happy Birthday old chap.
Rouen again this year? We're thinking about a change of plan. Maybe Gay Paris? That should have been with a small "G".
The shirt is being worn with pride and prompting a few questions!!!

Thanks for all your kind wishes chaps. My birthday present arrived this morning from the ACO. Full allocation as asked for and nothing about zoning at all ( ). Hooray, we are on our way. Nobby, we ( I ) haven't decided if it will be Rouen yet, we'll have a meet at the end of January. I do like the idea of Paris though. We used to do that many years ago and stayed in a great little hotel directly opposite the Palace of Versailles. Mmmmmmmmm. Rusty

The Brethren are now happily on MB! They enjoyed last year so much more without the upmarket folk from MB. Rusty said that the group is expecting to be larger then last year aswell

Hmmm but no mention of zoning then?
I don't get it? Have they changed their mind or will Rusty just not know what zone he's been allocated until the tickets turn up?
Was Rusty on the magic list that got a letter at the beginning of December or is this "phase 2" of the allocation what like in previous years the first thing you get is an invoice?

Hi Piglet,
It was the same as all the invoices that I have had over the previous years requesting payment in 2 weeks but there was no mention at all of any kind of zoning whatsoever. Maybe that was for the first wave of interns so that they have preference for the area of their desire. My previous invoices have always arrived 2 weeks before Christmas which is really handy when you are totally skint.
All that came with mine was a flashy brochure showing the campsites and their facilities along with the 35sqm space allowance giving me 700sqm in total, should be enough me thinks. There are new sites at Beausejour with a 105 sqm allowance at €150 and a numbered one at Hunadieres right on the Tertre rouge corner for a whopping €154, dead handy for the Stella bar though.

Cheers Rusty
Curiouser and curiouser (said Alice) - so the people who received "phase 2" allocations (not the magic listers) don't know what zone they have been allocated or even that there is a zoning scheme in place.
I'm alright (jack), mine are all coming from Powermite and surely even the ACO aren't daft enough to allocate one person tickets in different zones on the same invoice?!
None of the magic listers have mentioned their zones so I wonder if the ACO have told anyone which zone they have been allocated.
So.....if I was trying to put together a couple of tickets for MB from different sellers I'd be stuffed. But of course nobody, other than the magic listers, has been told about zoning so are we going to see buyers and sellers on ebay flogging tickets without knowing that there is a zoning scheme in place and/or which zone their tickets are in?

Just when you think you've worked out how the ACO works, up pops another variation... I did have the zoning letter in November time. And I also have my ticket confirmation letter, which doesn't mention zoning anywhere. Having now bothered to read the glossy - all sites seem to have a 35m2 allocation except on Beasejour you can now get 105m2 for €150 (35m2 being €46), and a new site called Hunaudieres which is right on the inside corner of the entrance to the staight, where you only get 30m2, and can only use 2 man tents - but it looks absolutely trackside, and it has electricity! EDIT: Just catching up with other posts and I realised this is the one with erected tents with the logo discussed elsewhere.I wasn't aware that they allowed tents at Mulsanne and Arnage but there are prices for 35m2 at each of those too.... The extra night charge for MB is €15 pn, but I've never yet had to pay it... And as they haven't charged me postage on my tickets, I guess I will just have to go down on test weekend to collect them...
