Dug out the slides this weekend and they are dated Jul 64.

So who guess this date was correct.

Even more good news, there are more slides that I need to scan in.

So watch this space......

Sorry chaps, negative on the Bloodhound its a Thunderbird, A missile that is very similar in appearance, the Thunderbird, was produced for and operated by the British Army anti-aircraft artillery units to provide a more mobile defence system.

Just look at the fins size and shape between the photos.

Found another pic, good action shot

same questions -

The only thing I think I am right on is that car 43 is a Lotus Elite and that car 39 has some strange roof extension, no doubt in the hope to improve aero efficiency.

Le Mans is for the week......not just 24hrs!

OK - here is the last pic I can find, talk about being close to the action.  And still no major safety barriers.

Love the quality grandstand as well -ahhh the good ol days. If it is 63/64 then i was 2 !  Drinking a diffrent bottle then.

OK - what are the cars?

The lead two cars are possibly early Lotus Mk7 or something similar.
