Don't Mention the Lanyards.
« on: June 19, 2007, 04:38:16 pm »
This is not yet the Full Story.  That will have to wait for:-
1) My liver to recover.
2) My Brain to catch up with my body.

As you all know I did't get the Lanyards to you.   Nor did I get them myself.   Anyway I rang the supplier this morning and ask what he planned to do about it.   For once he did phone me back and offered a full refund.  Naturally I took that.

So now I have a choice of things to do.

1)  Just return the money to everyone and start over with the 2008 version.
2)  Hang on to the money and get some 2008 ones made.

I guess there is a chance that the 2007 ones will turn up one day.  If they do I'll find a way to get them to you.

I'm really sorry I couldn't make it happen.

Best regards,
t,
La Légend s` écrit sous vos yeux.

Hi Tom,
Sorry you got let down, for us it could be put into the context of a minor issue that was out of anybodies control to rectify, I hope it didnt blight your weekend to much.
As for what to do with the refund you can take my vote and do as you feel approriate.
Cheers
Ian

Tom,

First and foremost, thank you for your personal efforts in trying to produce them and process orders in such a short time, and then to sort out the problem with their delivery when that surfaced - that it didn't work out as intended is simply unfortunate - it was done with the best of intentions.  As I was only in for two of them, you can send my money to the server fund and I'll buy again in 2008.

No problem Tom - thanks for the effort you put in.

Shame it didn't come off.

What to do with the funds? Well, '07 will be no use to me.

'08, probably no use as I don't think I'll be there next year.

I would be quite happy for my money to go to Big H or the DfH charity.

But to be honest, I'll go with the general consensus; it's not going to break the bank.

Ditto. As I said to Tom on the phone, it's always a pain in the a*se doing stuff like this for lots of people, even if it goes relatively smoothly ... but it can go off the rails so easily and you'll wish you'd never bothered.

I for one would be up for having them go ahead and produce the CA lanyards anyway (they weren't dated, were they?) so we can be sure they'll arrive in time for June 08  ;D

Have been looking for you (and the lanyards) and I apologize for not locating either of you this year.
The guys from DfH already told me that there was some kind of hickup.

Don't worry Tom, if you decide to have them delivered I'll gladly have the ones I ordered, if not count me in for 2008.
Thanks for the effort you put in.

Tom

Well done on all your efforts, don't worry about the dosh - do what ever with the fund, I'll go with the flow.

The only thing I would say, is put a bit of dosh away for next years lanyards backup plan.  ;D

I'm furious that we've all been ripped off and it completely ruinned our whole weekend. I'll be discussing the matter with my lawyers in the morning with a view to initiating proceedings against Tom to recover the £10.50 he did me over for.  ;)

Thanks for trying Tom, you didn't have to do it other than out of your own goodwill to support CA and I salute you Sir. In the meantime, my money can go to the server fund/charities or wherever and I'll buy some again in 08.
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

Tom, I'm really sorry it's caused you so much grief.   As said I'm happy for the money to go to the charity fund (I think the server fund is dealt with for this year isn't it?).

If they do turn up, I'd quite like the ones I ordered, I've got souvenier homes for them!

Same for me Tom, bung the cash at the server, or big H, or the associated charities.

Put me down for a couple next year though.

Thanks for trying Tom, sorry you had so much hassle. On a brighter note it was good to meet you and as for the money I'm sure Big H would welcome it !! See you next year.

I was going to post an "Angry from Camden" rant but Andy beat me to it.

I'm hoping the worry of waiting for the delivery man and the stress of explaining to everybody didn't spoil your weekend too much.

Sod the charities, please use my money to buy yourself a beer or two (if it will stretch to it). I'd be delighted to buy them again next year if the opportunity should arise.

It was good to meet you on Friday night.
If I was you, I wouldn't start from here

Well, as far as I'm concerned you did all you could and as they say "5h1t happens".  I'm with the majority so far, that is I'll buy again next year and happy my cash goes to an appropriate place as you decide for 2007.

Nice to meet you by the way  :)
