Goodwood
« on: August 09, 2007, 06:34:41 pm »
Are any of you planning to go to Goodwood at the end of the month?

I popped in today on the way home and the art deco garage is coming along nicely.
Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better.

Don't forget Guys n Dolls, Chav's are not welcome. This is now 'official' from Lord March.

Everyone must be in period 40's, 50's and 60's stuff. sh*t, I threw away my Carnaby St. stuff 10 yrs ago!!!

I'll also be getting a few free tickets as Mrs Leftie's boss is racing and I'm ment to be pitcrew   photographer!
At my age, it takes me all night to do what I used to do all night!!!!!!!!!!!
Then, growing old is compulsary, but growing up is just optional.

http://www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r?sContinent=EUR&screen=Catalogue&iSaleNo=15344

The Bonhams sale has an amazing collection of photo albums from Geoffrey Goddard coming up for auction.

(some pretty smart cars are going under the hammer as well that I expect will reach crazy prices)

I see from the papers that Lord M has designated it a "pro-smoking" event! ;D  "Just to keep things in period..."

I'll be there saturday and sunday, swilling shampers with the Commer Set.
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

I'll be there for the whole 3 days - as an exhibitor!

Andy-2-cobras (now 1 cobra) has now become a bonafide replica car manufacturer - producing a turnkey close copy Aston Martin DBR2 for £35,000 + vat.

Drop by the stand and have a chat, we will have a rolling chassis, aluminium front end and (hopefully) a completed customer car on the stand.

Andy's business is AS Motorsport.

Wow, that looks a fantastic car, although I'm sure the so-called purists would quibble with an XK engine in an Aston.

I'll be seeing you at the weekend then Mr Brown, please increase the corporate hospitality budget accordingly!!

Steve, I don't know what you're doing about accommodation but I could make available a certain vehicle which might assist you in having a comfortable night's sleep and fit in with the period of the event too.
