try this, same footage the only change is to the title.  on the original it was titled as a 235 when in fact it is a 225, doesn't mean much to us car fans bit a lot to our our aviation brethren

Why is it I thought the same thing, then I imagined Berni ((PD) of F1 fame) moaning about the tyres not being the right type/not wet weather etc.... 

Also, love the high security fencing at the airport, have'nt seen wooden picket fencing since Anna of Greengables days. Perhaps the fence contrator could quote and do Le Mans fencing.

The 225 has a habit of getting onto the runway for takeoff, and then dismaying unwary air traffic controllers, as it takes 1 minute PER ENGINE to spool them up, and they do it 1 at a time.

You generally only get caught out by this once in your career.

Funny you should mention Bernie cos when we landed at Nice this year there was one on the tarmac (If not the exact model it was an Antonov and a big bugger at that).
Loads of F1 stickered stuff around it so was wondering if it had the cars etc etc on board. This was Wednesday lunchtime pre-race weekend but we taxiied past it so didn't get to see a great deal.

Neil, your size comparison shows just how big Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose was (is).

I had a look around the 'Goose when it was displayed in the dome next to the Queen Mary in Long Beach, Calif back in 1983.  It was very big and very impressive.

The Spruce Goose has now been moved to a purpose built hanger in Oregon http://www.sprucegoose.org/ south of Portland.

What was the biggest British built aircraft?

From my own recollection with no google searches, I think it was the Princess flyingboat that was stored for many years at Calshot.

I wish they would re-develop sea-plane technology.

depends on how you measure it?

The British aircraft with the biggest wingspan was the Bristol Brabazon 230ft vs 219.5ft and weight 130 tons vs 154 tons.

Performance was about the same, shame neither of them are still around.

Both the Sunderland and the Princess were very elegant and able craft in their time but I do wish their technology was updated for todays standard. One problem would be the Solent being closed for sailing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
