The fund-raising committee feel that all members should be kept notified of the state of the clubs financial position on a regular basis, and the figures below show the situation as of 13th Feb 2008.  Please remember that this statement is for the 'Server' fund only, and does not include any monies held in the Charity account.

The current amount held is £2648.72.

This figure includes the sum of £644 income from the 2008 T-shirts but as yet, no expenditure.

Taking this from the total leaves a net figure of little over £2000 in the kitty.

The total has been boosted by a very respectable profit from the Calendars towards the end of last year, and also by the profit of £210 made by Tom on the (un-mentionable) lanyards.

Considering that it was less than a year ago when the brown stuff first hit the fan, and consequently the fund-raising committee was formed, the club is in a  very healthy position from a financial point of view.  This is down to the membership at large, and thanks must be given to all members who have made donations and have purchased club merchandise.

Don't forget that the next initiative - CA T-shirts 08 - is currently underway, and this should also provide a profit to further boost the club's funds.  To order your T-shirt(s), see the 'Order' thread in the General board above.

Del, a big thank you from my side (but I think actually from all of CA) for taking care of this and keeping us informed!

Cheers - Roll on June

In summary, does that mean CA is 'safe' for another year?

And is it now 'self funding' from the sale of merchandise?

The Fund-Raising Committee set itself an initial objective to build up a fund which would keep CA afloat for a rolling 12 months period, and we feel that this objective has been achieved.  The objective now is to maintain the fund at that level, hopefully by the sale of merchandise and other similar initiatives rather than waving the begging-bowl around.

It is difficult to state a particular time-scale, and also to answer the second question, because the amounts demanded from us vary considerably.  There are also plans to develop the site to provide additional facilities - these may or may not cost money.

So everyone can now go to La Sarthe in June and/or July and enjoy themselves, safe in the knowledge that CA will still be here when you get back   angel
