For a while now I have been trying to locate the original Radio Le Mans tune (the hourly update one - with She Sells Sanctuary by the Cult), but found myself unlucky so far. It can be found in the archives on www.0157.org - but the quality is very poor.

Is there anybody here who have recorded parts of the show on location at Le Mans, and is willing to make me a copy? They have been using the same tune for quite a few years now, so there shouldn't be any difference in year when recorded.

The tune itself is - as far as I can remember- at the bottom of every hour and has something in the direction of "Radio Le Mans update - on the hour, every hour" with the Cult song mixed into it.
I'd like to use it as my ringtone Grin

I have been in touch with John Hindhaugh over this, but he is concerned about the copyrights...

If its for a ring tone, can't you just down load it from one of those nasty ring tone sites?

Will cost you money no doubt.

I don't care about a few pennies for a ringtone, but strongly doubt if the tune would be available as ringtone to buy. Have got the Cult song itself as a ringtone at the moment, but had to convert that myself as I couldn't find that anywhere either. Guess the jingle wouldn't be popular as a ringtone Wink

Ah, I see, I thought you just wanted the song as an MP3 (which I was about to email to you)

Hmmmm, I guess with a bit of mixing there must be a way of creating your own jingle?? (Radio DfH update, a beer on the hour, every hour!!)  Grin
