Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better.

I wonder how much the continued failure of the Audi engined Spykers at Le Mans influenced Audi's decision to build their own GT ?

Since Le Mans Spyker have actually gone on to win an endurance event a couple of weeks back. (Name slips my mind)

Audis hand has been forced on the R8. New rules mean that private tuners now have far greater freedom on chassis choice than before and can proceed mostly with or without manufactor blessing.

Audi know if they didnt approve and help one, then the result could be shocking.

According to the latest info I have Audi arecoming back with a petrol engine because in their opinion the ACO have legislated out the advantage the diesel engines have heretofore had. Wither (sic) then the Peugeot 908 then next year? Also the story in the press room at Silverstone was that the Audi R8 will have the diesel engine from the R10. Again, just rumours, but time will tell. Also Honda have their new LMP1 ARX-02 running in the ALMS series under the american Acura name, but it is still in doubt as to whether they are coming to Le Mans.
