How to capture an image from a video clip

I have got a little video clip taken on a digital camera and I want to capture some frames to be photos - if you see what I mean.

Can anyone give me any advice how to do it?   I would really be very grateful! :)

P.S.  Its a little Canon Ixus if that makes any difference and an "MVI" file

Fran,i have no idea how to do this yourself but i have had this done a few times at my local photography shop from video taken on my camcorder. I find the results sometimes come out far better than me trying to take a proper photo. Hope this helps.

You Have to Download Divx use their player/converter it is not expensive they are very helpfull if you struggle at first.

You'll either need to convert the MVI file to something that your computer understands (eg AVI, MPG or WMV if you're on Windows), or else install a "codec" onto your PC to allow you to open that file in other applications. It is possible that your MVI file is actually an AVI file with a different name - try renaming the last part and see if Windows Media Player will open it.

Try running Windows Movie Maker (free download here) and dragging your MVI file into that... if you can get Movie Maker to see it, you can advance frame by frame and Movie Maker gives you an option of "capturing" a frame to a single picture file. That's probably the easiest way to do it...
