Helicopter Rides
« on: February 22, 2009, 09:36:27 am »
Does anyone know the approximate cost of circuit helicopter rides and any contact details?  Are they a good experience and worth planning in?

Thanks Ian

Try a quick search of the forum Ian, there was discussion of this last year IIRC.

Now had a quick look myself but can't see anything definitive. There was a group booking happening in 2007 which was €80 per person, so I' budget around €100.

The CA Guide may also be a source of useful info.

There's a chapter about the heli-rides incl. booking details on page 104 of the CA-Guide, see

Can't recall the cost - her termieship organises things - but found the ride to be good. A couple of laps of the circuit, with the helicopter banking a lot of the time so good pics and views are available. Middle seat at the back is a bit limited in photo opps, but I still managed to get a few good pics. Does, no doubt, depend on the weather - we were lucky, it was Saturday, early evening, bright and clear. We could see the R10 that Rocky had bent at Tertre Rouge! Recommended if you can afford it and the weather is right.

Hi Ian,
GO in daylight Saturday. Having said that . You do know the Jet Jockeys will tell you Helicopters are 20,000 pieces going in opposite directions ;D More advice: Do NOT ask the pilot if it will fly upsidedown >:D

Thats the space shuttle, and I would be a bit more worried in that.

the email is lemans@jet-systems.fr and the contact is valerie or sebastien on 0033 2 43 72 07 70

they will be located on the airfield but on the track side (near the "Parking Blanc"). You need to come 15' before your flight

mention CA and you may even get a discount- but no promises
