"You may be eligible for a refund of one-third of your fuel surcharge if you bought:
A BA or Virgin long-haul ticket
In the UK or US
Between 11 August 2004 and 23 March 2006
Paid a fuel surcharge
Full details of the claims process will be available in about 60 days"

Looks to me like that takes in Sebring 2005 & 2006, so I could be in for around £40. Hardly a fortune but it'll almost pay the airport parking for 2008 Smiley

You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!

What, You'll take the refund even after you got an upgrade last year?

Smiley of course. Last year isn't in scope for a refund...

Also in 2005 I had the return journey from hell. Broken seat, and an incident on the plane which meant we had to sit around for 40 mins waiting for the police to take some people off the flight at Heathrow. BA gave me £30 of vouchers to spend in their shop where, oddly ewnough, you can't buy flights (well, not as chealy as on t'internet) or anything else of much use for that matter..

Did you ever get any kind of feedback after registering your details?

I'm sure I filled something in at the time it all kicked off but now can't find any evidence of doing so in my inbox  Huh I don't even recall requiring flight numbers / dates, so maybe i should just put back in another time.... Undecided

That was a pre-registration, and no, I heard nothing. But they've only just "opened the lines" as of Wed (or was it yesterday?). So poss something will drop through the letterbox (or inbox) in the next few days. I need to find all the details - think I have 2 return flights to the US to claim on. It'll pay for a beer or two...

The online registration form does not start until tomorrow, where did you guys fill in the details.

I think I have about 18 flights to claim (including my family)

So I could do with some of my cash back !

This was announced in Feb and there was a pre-reg, which has now gone in favour of the Real Thing which, as you rightly say, starts tomorrow. You then have until December 2012 to complete a claim...

Got an email about this today.

"Dear Claimant:

We have received many enquiries regarding the timing for payment of refunds from the British Airways and Virgin Atlantic Airways Passenger Refund Settlement. Please note that on 21 October 2008, three Objectors appealed the Order and Final Judgment approving the Settlements. Resolution of this appeal is likely to take at least six months and could take more than a year, depending on the speed with which the appeals court decides the issue.

Payments to all claimants in the United States and the United Kingdom will be delayed until the appeal by the three Objectors is resolved.

Copies of the relevant court filings and a more detailed update can be found at www.airpassengerrefund.co.uk on the "Reminders/Updates" page.

Kind regards,

Air Passenger Refund Settlement Fund

I got two cheques for this - one yesterday for £16 and one today for £6. Better than nothing I suppose...
