Beauséour this morning
« on: June 08, 2009, 03:29:59 pm »
The grass is nearly waist high and they are manfully trying to cut it in pouring rain. You'll get the idea from the pictures. The one of the high grass is where the Pistonheads camping site was last year.

Here are the first arrivals having breakfast.

And Houx...  :-X

I don't care - I'm a racing driver and I'm here to win, not to finish third.

For once glad that we're not arriving until Wednesday afternoon.

That picture of Houx reminds me of 2007 - had friends camping in the unallocated plots by the wall nearest the track.  By the end of the race their tents were afloat, it all got left behind!

Reminiscent of Sebring 2007, when I arrived after the worst of the weather (I'm no fool!!). This is what we found...

I also have a 44mb wmv file from the YFDS crew which has some fantastic footage from after the storms - including a guy with diving flippers and mask (why would you bring them to a motor race???), and somewhere I have a shot of a guy floating through the camp site on a lilo!

Today the usual points of entry were still barricaded with earth (to stop the pikeys camping) and I don't think the site will be open for business (well, not the far end anyway from the look of things) until Wednesday. As I type (5.15pm french time) it is truly hammering down again and it looks set in. Any significance in the animals going by two by two?

As our man in the (very wet) field, whats your take on the access discussed here.

http://www.clubarnage.com/forum/index.php?topic=9782.0

Is it possible to use the access under Terte Rouge by the stella bar to get on the chemin aux Beoufs and onto the houx annexe or has the stadium work blocked it?
Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better.

No, you can access but there is a slight detour. From Carrefour go south to Tertre Rouge roundabout, exit direction Paris for 50 yds and then right down the hill behind the bar. Right again under the Tertre Rouge bridge and just carry on and follow the detour. Youll ebd up at the Houx roundabout.

Hi Lynxd67 - how does the stadium work affect access to Parking Vert?

Normally we come in up Ave. George Durand and take a right (almost back on yourself) into Chemin aux Boeufs, along past the Stella Bar (on the right), under the track, then take a right into the parking area (well it's straight on really) Is this route still accessible?

Best rgds,

Pete B.
