With all the excitement that Paula and Jayne's visit to LM has caused, everybody seems to have forgotten the poor deluded fool who left his tickets and ACO membership with his X. Shocked
The guy needs a visit from the men in white coats.

:-*In best Leslie Philips accent, fiddles with moustache:

"Hellooo! Ding dong! I say! What are a couple of divine creatures such as you two doing at a frightful motor race? More Champagne?"

The reaction from some correspondents on this forum, who frankly should know better, has been little short of amazing! Although I think Smokie redeemed himself with the magazine comment.

But generally, it's been like a verbal Carry On film. All cos a couple girls want to spend a weekend camping. Really gents, get a grip. As the late great Syd James would say on seeing the innocent young Barbara Windsor character come mincing into the campsite..... Pphhwwwooorrrr!!

Now if only we could all find an event only women go to....

ACO membership gets you entry into the ACO members enclosure - food and cold drinks on sale, proper sit-down, clean toilets etc. 'Canteen/restaurant' style permanent building with outdoor terrace. It's located overlooking the exit to the pit-lane on the inside of the track. Entry is via a gateway through from the village - near the Champers bar.

ACO membership also used to get you entry in the old museum building which had similar facilities (located at the 'back' of the village - usually with old cars parked on the grass). Can anyone confirm?

Usually one card gets entry for the member and one guest.

But for the doubters amongst you, I have made a note that you all meet on the Saturday at 2200 hours,in the Shampoo bar, tell me how we find it and Jayne and I will be there to thank you in person. And maybe buy you a beer.

You'll struggle to buy a beer in the Shampoo bar as I seem to recall it only sells champagne.  I also vaguely recall thats its not too expensive nor too good!

Come to think of it I haven't told the other half theres a champagne bar there.  If she finds it the onl;y way we'll get away is if I carry her when shes comatose!

I have only been to the champagne bar once, and as a result missed the end of the race!  As regards the comatose women, I'd best not offer you mine as she might get upset!
