Title: Re: 24 heures de Rouen Post by: Kpy on February 17, 2012, 09:18:15 pm Yes, in years gone by.
Akin to watching paint drying on water - little boats whizzing up and down the Seine with a buoy at either end of the course. It's no longer a genuine 24 hour race following the death of a gendarme in a police Zodiac hit by a competitor in 2010. Now it's split into 3 separate races, I think. For afficionados of that type of power-boat racing only IMHO. Title: Re: 24 heures de Rouen Post by: Fran on February 18, 2012, 12:09:26 am Not been yet, but its on my List!
Mind you, I love pretty much all forms of boat/yacht racing and if its in France, all the better. :) F Title: Re: 24 heures de Rouen Post by: Grand_Fromage on February 18, 2012, 10:02:18 am Akin to watching paint drying on water - little boats whizzing up and down the Seine with a buoy at either end of the course. I watched about 20 seconds of it, one time when it coincided with LM test day. I saw them racing on the river as I drove over the bridge on my way through the city. I had no time to stop and look that time, but I've always wondered if it was worth the trip... They let you race the old America's Cup yachts in Auckland these days. You could plan it around a trip to Oz for Bathurst. :) Dx |
