Who is up for this one? Usual April date. First race without Audi since..?
-
Depends on the weather, if it's crap I'll watch it from home, if forecast is good I'll run up for it.
-
.
-
doing my usual Friday pic feast of WEC & ELMS practice & group photo
gotta go now as booked Travelodge ;D
-
I'll be there Thursday to Sunday
-
Possibly all weekend, but if not then race day.

-
Oh yes!
But I'm also committed to a Help4Heroes fundraiser on that weekend as well as one of the event organisers...
...oh heck!
-
Gearbox failure? It's a Land Rover, who wouldn't believe you ;)
-
I shall also be looking at weather closer to the event before deciding.
-
Friday, Saturday and Sunday for me. Accommodation was booked as soon as the dates were announced and tickets arrived a few weeks ago. Looking forward to it, whether it brings sun, rain, or snow! As always a weekend of racing and curry for me! :)

Now that name rings a bell.
Founder of an LM website I used to look at often in the early/mid 2000's?
Welcome to CA!

Hi Aysedasi,
Where have you been ?
I will be on BN with Lawnmowerman and the rest of Camp UN under the Maple Leaf and Union Jack beside the UN flag.
Tepid beer on tap all week end ?

Silverstone is the one to look forward to, for the early taste of competition but ...........jeeeeeeez, it was cold, last year! :o
Accommodation booked for this year but think the weather will have a pretty large say. :-\
-
See you there. I'll be the idiot putting up a tent in a snow blizzard like last year.
-
Aysedasi, a name I recognise from 10ths. Howdy and welcome to CA

Not only was I camping last year too, I was stood out in the snow! Not this year though

The Wills generations (Brad Zak Max and I) have booked the Caravan into Silverstone Farm Campsite in the village for Saturday and Sunday night. If anybody fancies joining us, it's £15 / night / Adult with electric hook up, (£12 for a tent) apparently about a mile from entrance but as parking is free that's fine. Will be sparking up the BBQ to burn food in the evenings. Not Sure if doing ELMS, depends what time we arrive.

Anyone got a decent long-range forecast?
I'm certainly going to be there on Sunday, but if the forecast is somewhere close to half-decent then I might rock up on Saturday & camp overnight.

Great minds think alike, but if the weathers really crap I'll skip Sunday as well and watch the live feed.
-
I don't think you have to pre book at silverstone farm and they say that if it gets busy they just open another field so, weather dependant, could be an option.
-
Thanks for the info Ian, will certainly bare that in mind if I make a late decision to go.
-
Hope to be there for at least two, possibly three days. Hope too for a few degrees warmer than last year.
Definitely not staying overnight. Warm bed in warm house 30 minutes away!

From the Met Office Long Range Forecast:
UK Outlook for Tuesday 4 Apr 2017 to Tuesday 18 Apr 2017:
Early April looks likely to see high pressure remaining close to or over the UK for the most part. This will bring drier and somewhat warmer conditions than normal for the time of year. If this is the case it is likely that we will see a greater spread in temperatures from day to night, with the risk of overnight frosts continuing for some. However, there may be bouts of unsettled weather at times too, though these will probably be short-lived.

Track action already starts on Thursday afternoon.
Just rebooked eurotunnel a few hours earlier to be in time for Thursdays photo briefing (painful > leaving home around 5 am).
Do we plan a CA meeting sometime during the weekend ?
-
Current BBC weather forecast says 12 degrees and, most importantly, dry. I can live with that.
Booked a weekend ticket and camping on Woodlands.
Should arrive Friday in time for WEC free practice.
Anyone fancy a beer-meet on the Friday evening or Saturday?

Amazing! Woodlands campsite has free Internet access. I'm going to walk over to the pub at 9pm.
-
Has a time & location been agreed on?
-
Rear of pit lane where the food & beer outlets are?
1pm?

Sorry I missed you all. Hope you had a good meet up. Awesome racing today and yesterday at ELMS. Safe trip home everyone.
-
Sorry missed that RV as hadn't picked it up the message, saw some CAers though which was good.
What a great weekend! Unexpectedly better weather than forecast and a stonking close-run race in all 4 classses, throughout the 6 hours. Best race I've seen in a long time.
Roll on June!

I think you mean May! ;D

That's me. Site is still going. I've actually been a member here since 2009, but largely only a lurker as I inhabit 'another place' most of the time.... ;)
