So, at the present time there is not a great entry. Fingers crossed for the next two days! I'll post the follow-up press release when i get it.

Or one could check the ACO website where (for a change) the info is up-to-date

http://www.lemans.org/sport/sport/actu/2009-01-20_GD_3629_gb.html

Good to see the Corvettes officially confirmed btw

don't look surprised if they withdraw at some point this year, it still isn't going to well with the mothercompany!

This is not a list of those that have entered, rather one that shows who have had an auto entry and if they have taken it up.

In addition to those listed, we could add the 2 Audi R10s for Muckle, 2 P1 Astons for Prodrive, the Goh P2 Porsches plus the usual odds and sods from Courage, Pesca , Lola and Zytec into both P1 and P2.

I very much doubt we will see a grid as empty as we did in the early 90's in fact think it will be the usual 50+. I wont comment on the quality.

Might just open up the field for some privateers if the factory entries are down.  Be interesting to see what comes out as the next updated list, given that the 21st Jan deadline has now passed.

A little shake up like this might not do the race any harm  :)

http://www.lemans.org/sport/sport/actu/2009-01-29_GD_3634_gb.html

82 entries for 55 places. down side is we will have to wait until February for the official entry list ::)

See they've tried to pinch our catchphrase - it says at the bottom "Not long to go now"

Plus que quelques jours à attendre…
Is the ACO's phrase - the English is a translation.

20 French entries, most of them will probably get in.

Prehaps the ACO should introduce a new award:- Most arm waving and Gallic shrugs in the pit lane.

New entries will have stiff competition if last years performance from Peugeot is anything to go by. ;)

The local rag says today that Pescarolo will have two new cars for LM and the LM series. He needs to get his entries in good order when the competition is a bit thin!

I have read that the full 2009 entry list will come out today in Paris.

Great.  I knew it was soon and have been logging on to the website every hour or so for the last week.  Sad or what? ::)

The big rumour is that Henri will given one or two Pug 908's to run this year!

I saw that too. The other rumour is the the ACO will allow vitaphone to run their MC12 in GT1.

Porsche are also expected to up their support of the spyder in P2, again there may be a vitaphone connection.

The MC12 would be good to see at LM.  Last saw one of these about 3 years ago at Sebring.

The Corse car #003/15440 ran in the 12 hours in 2005.

Don't recall one running in 2006 or 2007.

The list is out - and it looks good in LMP1:

3 Audi R15
2 Audi R10
4 Peugeot 908 (1 entered by Pescarolo!)
4 Astons Martin

Roll on June

In 07 the only GT1 entries were 2 Vettes, ( 1 yellow and 1 white ) and 1 Aston

No Rollcentre, and the LMP1 car is up for sale :'(

No Saleen's on the main list, 9th reserve for Labre :'(, but in the present climate they might get in.

Good to see an Euskadi in, wicked looking car, hope it is a bit more reliable than last year :)

2 Lambo's in GT1 ;D

Good to see 4 of those great looking Lola coupes in LMP2.

Henri's running two different cars in LMP1, don't know if that is a brilliant idea, I predict much Gallic arm waving.

Rollcentre's Pesca has been sold to race in ALMS:

"Star Mazda team Mundill Racing have acquired an ex-Rollcentre Racing Pescarolo-Judd LMP1 car and plan to enter it in the American Le Mans Series before the end of the season".

If all those listed make it to June, then it is going to be good race.

Getting excited now.

But, GT2 appears to lack variety due to the number of Ferrari.

It's going to be one hell of a fight in LMP1 I reckon!
Lose a lap or two in the gravel or pits and a car could drop from top 3 to outside the top 10!

LMP2 looks like it'll be a big fight too.

GT1 looks a P&M benefit,  the rest will be fighting over the 3rd spot on the podium, reliability and 3 top drivers will secure that.

GT2 could be a good scrap, shame about all of those 430's though.  Still the Aston V8 should sound terrific!

Traditionally it had too many Porsches.  How odd

They seem to have got it right, as ususally there are far too many good cars on the reserve list.  We'll just have to hope that the Saleen gets in, and the second Spyker and the WR are almost part of the furniture
