Last year I found some Cheval steaks in the Carrefour and managed to sneak a pack into the trolley.

The guys were not too impressed.  Especially as they suffered with some excessive methane after consumption.

Apologies to anyone in the Lagache grandstand if they were downwind of our lot.

Go to the supermarket - buy the biggest washing up bowl you can find - fill with cold water and induldge in some communal foot soaking.  Excellent for keeping cool and a spot of footsie  Wink

I dislike some of the driving (and the bragging) to LM, I have said for a long time that there will be a fatality (not the first I think?) at the roundabout and in the town centre or on a campsite.

Totally agree - which is one of the reasons that we take the scenic route to Le Mans and travel on the Wednesday.  The journey is part of the trip.

A couple of years ago some tosser in a TVR chose to wheelspin on MB around the roads that we were camped alongside - he thought this was great fun for half an hour at 2am.  Nice one dickhead, I felt less secure in my tent adjacent to the roadway.  How sober do I think he was?

Think I might know this person - and yes he is a class one dickhead.

I have never seen the "antics" on Houx roundabout - we always go into Le Mans on the Friday for the Drivers' Parade.  But I have been on a coach returning to the camp site that was subjected to what I can only describe as a mob banging on the sides of the coach.  The French driver was taking no prisoners - how no one was killed I don't know.

Unfortunately a lot of blokes consume stupid juice instead of alcohol at Le Mans.

James Hunt is/was my Hero.  It was rumoured that often when he raced, he was still pissed from the party the night before and had only got 3 hours sleep.

Some of the best driving I saw last year was the GP Masters.  Intrestingly enough, I believe the out of the first six drivers, none had actually ever won a F1 race.  But the driving was competitive and there was plenty of overtaking and place swapping.  Personally I think this was down to all the cars being basically the same - teams could make tweaks to the set up.  So a lot of it was down to driver's skill and not how much money was thrown at R&D.

Was the subject title "web shite" an accident or an indication of the site's content?  Wink

To be pedantic.  It only sort of works.   It doesn't take into account the fact that the clocks go forward later this month.

You have to give it the time the race starts in your timzone. So in the UK you have to say 14:00 since the UK is an hour behind France.  It's currently 23:30 here and the countdown is saying 106 day 14 Hours 30 mins.  My avatar which is correct is showing 106 days 13 hours and 30 mins.

The race starts at 15:00 local in france 14:00 Local in the UK and 13:00 GMT.

So at midnight tonight my Avatar will say 105 days 13 Hours which is correct.

After Sunday March 25 01:00 GMT the countdown clock will work correctly.

I guess this far out no one is that bothered about the odd hour.
But I wouldn't like anyone to think my Avatar was wrong.

THe countdown timer on the ACO site is also wrong.  Well it's wrong if you are not in the same timezone as France.
So the DFH guys see the correct time I think.  However, The guy over the other side of the pond have a time that is way out.

t.

So does this mean that you can't help me with my problem then?   Cry

Did the old ones go round corners then?.......

A lot better than the newer ones.  The Griff corners way better than the Tuscan.   Tongue

Will be interesting to see what comes out of the melting pot.  As long as we can still get parts for the existing ones, I will be happy.

Have a look at The Lawnmower Man's avatar!

I have seen it and that sorta gave me the idea - but I want one on my PC that will remind me of the event every time it goes into Screensaver mode.

 Cool
