Club Arnage / Help / Re: Houx access question

Neil,
As far as I can remember, there is no access to this tunnel from Houx. We stayed in Karting last year which benefits from this new tunnel under the Bugatti - it leads right into the junction behind the paddock area. I seem to remember metal fencing running all around the West side (at the west end of the road running through Houx) with no visible access for cars or pedestrians. However I remember seeing the fence being breached on a few occasions.
Access or no access, it would still be the same walking distance.

I have just been checking some flight prices for work colleagues and thought I would check out prices for Le Mans.
Surprizingly?!? , I did not find any non-charter flights to Arnage, BUT - Ryan Air have flights from London Stanstead to Tours starting at 0.01p each way.
They will then sting you for taxes and luggage charges etc. but you can in principle get Lemans side and back quickly and in comfort for less that 50 quid.
Worth a look if you have not booked up yet and have a group to meet with in LM.

These are what the Danish bus tours stay in on KN. They seen perfectly adequete for them, but very little rain for the last few years! The kids collected a few up last year - before the pikeys got in! Some friends have borrowed / used them since for UK festivals with out problems and the're still going fine.
Suggest you empty the tent or pack up quickly on Sunday tho, cause if you can put them up in two seconds I bet the pikeys can get them away quicker?!?

Thanks Fran. Will give it a try.
Lorry - It has a slotted plastic rail down each side of the roof. I know that it is not the same as the older - Pre '05 Focus.
Cheers guys

Club Arnage / Help / Ford Focus Roof Top Box
|

This is a long shot.
Does anyone know where I can beg, steal, buy, hire or borrow a roof top storage box and roof bars for an '05 Ford Focus II? I know about HALFORDS etc. But I am trying to do this on a shoestring!!!
Basically need the box to take stuff to Le Mans for race week only after our parties' designated van driver has down-sized the type of van that we have available. We have 4 in a car and no room for stuff - Do I take all camping stuff in the car, or do I leave one of the kids behind?
Having looked at Halfords etc, these things are phenominely expensive, to the point where I can not justify the expense of say 200 or 300 quid for a thing that I am only going to use for 8 days. (The car will be replaced next year). Plus you've got this blooming thing stuck in the garage for the other 356 days.
If you have an 05 Focus with Roof bars and box which is not being used for Le Mans, I would be very pleased to hear from you. If you live within relative driving distance locale to Oxford this would be even better.
A huge bung can be arranged for any help, cold beers courtesy of Team Flying Gherkin Motorsport etc.
Please post back or PM me if you can. Cheers Deano

I love reading the forum and learning 'what's happnin' . I have to admit to only posting when I want something or need advice.
But I do appreciate what is a great forum, cheers, I promise to try to join in a bit more.

Does anyone know of a link between Chamberlain Motorsport and a rural farm in Oxfordshire?
Driving to work all this week I have noticed there is a Chamberlain Synergy Motorsport liveried articulated transporter parked on a farm near Beckley, visible from the B4027.
Like I said it may be trivial and indeed academic, but intriguing nevertheless.
Thoughts so far -
It is there for storage - odd location? It is an old unit sold to another owner - but it still has a matching tractor unit attached? Subcontractor?

Having not been involved in any incidents myself, I must say that the displays are greatly appreciated and much part of the event, however echo that they have to be done safe, fireworks and booze don't mix very well (plus they don't light afterwards).
Have had experience of gas cylinders exploding vertically upwards on one occasion where some fool had lit an oil drum! The cylinder fortunately landed safely without harm, but some damage was done to surrounding tents by pieces of burning chicken carcass.
Moral, when you are going to burn stuff, try to predict all consequences.

Even with an idiot guide, I have never managed to find the same route through Rouen twice even after about thirty journeys. Ranging from sailing, i mean driving straight through in about 5 minutes thru getting hopelessly lost for an hour and a half.
I dont know what it is about the place, maybe the frence swap the signposts over occasionally for laughs

Norfolkline - Dover to Dunkerque (it's only 10 minutes from Calais at racing speed), still show a price of £19 each way if booked during October for Tuesday til Monday. BUT - you have to travel after 11pm
