1  Club Arnage / Help / Re: Gulf stickers to pimp my ride on: March 11, 2008, 08:18:07 am
hollographics, but when I last visited their site, the stickers were unavailable due to copyright issues.

Ah - I'm not quite as crap as I thought! I went to hollographics and thought 'this looks familiar' but then couldn't find them.
Bit of a shame really. As my lad put it 'they were well cool!'
2  Club Arnage / Help / Gulf stickers to pimp my ride on: March 10, 2008, 09:53:59 pm
Hi all,
At sometime over the last few weeks I surfed across a bumper package of stickers that meant one could turn one's car into a Gulf Aston Martin - given that my camper is baby blue I feel somewhat obliged. Only problem is I can't for the life of me remember where it was. Any one else seen them? Where!? Huh
Thanks
Gareth
3  Club Arnage / Help / Re: Reliant Robin - Racing Gulf on: July 11, 2007, 12:07:27 pm
We saw the 'Gulf' robins at the back of BSJ - didn't get any shots though as our attention was grabbed by this even rarer limited edition 'Flush' camping by us......

Once we were p!"£$%d we all shat, sorry, sat on it.....
4  Club Arnage / Help / LMS at Silverstone on: July 10, 2007, 06:36:16 pm
Hi Guys and Gals,
Got a couple of Q's about the LMS at Silverstone.
Silverstone are offering a 'hospitality package' for £135 + VAT for the LMS on 15-16th Sep. Has anyone ever bought in to it? Is it any good?
Also, this is our first time at one of these 1000km's - what time is practice / qualifying / the race?
Cheers
Gareth
ps We're staying at Whittlebury - I think some of you are doing the same so look forward to putting names to faces.
5  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: CDG Airport to Gare Montparnasse train station on: June 13, 2007, 10:01:56 am
Craig,
You want to get the air france bus ( I think its number 4 - there are a few different air france bus services into the city). It stops at all the terminals although you will be best of asking at info where exactly the stops are for whatever terminal you are in. If you are flying BA then once you have your luggage come through Duanes, turn left, walk about 150yds and you will come to restaurants. The bus stop is to the right, through some automatic doors. Look at the road markings to see where exactly your bus will stop. Its been a while since i did it so probably best with just asking at information where the stops are rather than relying on my memory!. I used to do it frequently - always worked well. The cost is about 13 euros, you can pay as you board. Should take about 40 minutes in clear traffic, up to 1hr 15 in the rush hour. Runs every 30 minutes but I can't remember what time past the hour. If you have any time to kill there is a friendly Irish pub just around the corner from the bus stop at Gare Montparnasse!
Good Luck,
Gareth

8  Club Arnage / Help / Re: HELP! BREAKDOWN COVER on: June 08, 2007, 09:50:45 pm
because it has had an exchange engine
How did the AA know

Just about the first question was 'is it the original engine?'. I thought it being a recon unit from a well known vw specialist would help but all its done is open up a whole can of worms about the origin of the exchange unit. Nothings ever simple is it!
Anyhow, thanks for the leads, off to surf the net for a deal!
9  Club Arnage / Help / HELP! BREAKDOWN COVER on: June 08, 2007, 04:36:35 pm
Guys and girls,

The AA have just declined to cover my '79 vw camper because it has had an exchange engine and we don't have the original certificate of registration for the exchange engine (?). Any one got any recommendations for european breakdown cover for classics (dare I call it a classic!)?

All suggestions gratefully received! Thanks

FORSALE? - does it have camper kit inside?

>Martini

'Tis indeed a home from home - sink, cooker, 'kin big leisure battery, wired for ac as well (shame I was too tight to buy a decent generator!), 4 berth - double rock 'n roll downstairs, double on the first floor! Almost feels like cheating! Luckily its really slow, adding an authentic endurance feel to any journey!

For sale? My wife and little boy say absolutely not! Best ebay buy to date - much better than the 'mega-watt silent suitcase generator' that barely lights a bulb and is quite the noisiest means of making wiggly amps ever! And the spare Jensen engine that is now sat in the garage cos I sold the car...........and the 'bargain' wetsuit that actually makes you colder (and is bright purple).......the list goes on.......'premium' lager and ebay just don't mix! Ooooops, might be wandering of thread here!!

We are going by veeeee-dubya! Portsmouth -St.Malo wednesday nite, via that pub at the ferry terminal (rudmore cellars?). If you see us give a cheer....or stop and help fix it! Managed to isolate the problems down to everything electrical and mechanical! New bumpers though, so should look good on the relay truck!
Hopefully get to meet a few peeps this year. The trouble in previous years has been sitting down. We have never been able to stand up again without first quaffing flagons of 'premium' lager. Then we can't stand very well so have to sit back down - a sort of vicious circle! We'll be on BSJ so stop and say hello. Unless there's Elvis playing and empty beer tins all around - might be best to walk on, you'll get no sense out of us!

A collapsed gazebo, empty beer and champagne bottles and general rubbish were left in a pathetic attempt at clearing up.

15  Club Arnage / General Discussion / 'evo' le mans article on: August 01, 2005, 12:44:57 pm
hi all
you've probably seen it but there is a mildly amusing article by Richard Porter in this months evo. I don't think it warrants buying it specially - its only one page worth - but it might kill 5 minutes in Smiths! Page 23
