2  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: UK Lockdown III on: February 02, 2021, 01:49:00 pm
So the motorbike 24 hours is now announced as running behind closed doors.....and the 24 hr tickets are showing as "to be informed" on their website.  Well, the ACO have informed us that they won't be deciding on ticketing until April.

I'd hazard a guess that their choice might simply be about whether to run behind closed doors or not rather than to postpone.  Last year everywhere was shut down and they didn't have a calendar or plans to speak of, so were able to come up with the virtual running of it in June and to postpone the actual running behind closed doors to September.

This year though who knows, it could change either way quickly either there or here or both, so we're just taking it as it comes and working out a Plan B for something in UK this summer should going to France fail again.

I don't see a race in Jun with spectators as likely regardless of how the UK vaccination programme is going as that simply won't be a factor.  If the race goes ahead in Jun then I think it'll be behind closed doors.  The option to postpone to later in the year in order to increase the probability of being able to have a race with spectators is 'adopting hope as a strategy'. As Mark says all we can do is take it as it comes; respond to facts, not speculation.  If it is pushed back then I hope not to 18-19 Sep as have just booked tickets for Goodwood Revival (with a guarantee of transfer to following year or full refund if Government advice prevents it).

Not surprised and probably inevitable. Have amended my Sep 20 ferry booking to Jun 21, hopefully!
you might want to amend those dates again. The date for 2021 is 13th and 14th of June.

That's June 2021, race is 12/13 Jun  Grin.

5  Club Arnage / 2020-21-22 / General Admission Ticket Wanted Please (Now No Longer Required) on: July 19, 2020, 10:19:41 am
As per the title I'd like just one General Admission Ticket please for this Sep.  I have camping and admission tickets for those from my crowd who are still planning to go this year and returned tickets and received refunds for all those who've decided not to.  My daughters boyfriend was always planning to attend for the first time this year and the plan was to buy him an entrance ticket once at the circuit.  Well it was a plan.............

Although the ACO have said they'll give details of how additional tickets may be bought on 17 Aug, if anyone has one and is now not going I'd be happy to buy it please.

Edit:

Obviously now no longer required.
6  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Roll call - September at Camp Carnage on BN on: July 17, 2020, 10:12:52 pm
Also intending to be there in Sep and have camping tickets for Epinettes. Very much reduced numbers in our crowd, no MG Mark and his lot and a fair few drop outs from my side of the fire lane as well. Think we'll be about 9 in total rather than the 40 or more in previous years. It'll certainly be different and I don't think it'll be as good, but I've been enough times that I don't think a different year will be a particular problem and I won't know if I don't go.

There will only be a few of us there this year, that seems ironic on the 80th anniversary year of the Battle of Britain.  Now there's an idea for a T Shirt  Roll Eyes.

I amended my Brittany Ferries crossing from overnight Mon to overnight Tue earlier today on basis of this.  2020 is certainly going to be different, still planning to be there though.

Received my refund yesterday.

Useful update thanks, hopefully I'll see my refund soon as well.
10  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Ticket Refunds from the Le Mans Tourist Office on: June 09, 2020, 06:22:50 pm
Not yet but have had confirmation of receipt of the form and returned tickets. In the confirmation it stated that it would be a few weeks and as far as I know Tourist Office staff have only recently returned to work.  I was ask for my bank details again this morning (third time I've provided them) and the response was an automated out of office which is a little concerning.
11  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Spa WED 2020 - Camping locations? on: December 03, 2019, 02:30:06 pm
I went to the Belgian GP at Spa in 2012 and whilst the event was a bit disappointing compared to LM the circuit was fantastic and agree with everything other have said about viewing.   A WEC race should give time to walk all the way round the circuit during the race, like we do at Silverstone, not possible during a F1 race and probably too crowded anyway.

Considering going myself as is my B'day and first day as a Civvy for a (very) long time so worthy of celebrating.
12  Club Arnage / 2017-18-19 / Re: For Sale - 1 x Epinettes Camping Ticket on: June 10, 2019, 09:13:13 am
I would. Am currently on ferry in Portsmouth about to depart for Caen and then drive to Le Mans.  If still interested let me know, I'll PM you my mobile.
13  Club Arnage / 2017-18-19 / For Sale - 1 x Epinettes Camping Ticket on: June 03, 2019, 10:50:13 am
One of our group is unable to make it this year so I have a spare Camping Ticket for Epinettes campsite available for sale. The pitches are not numbered on Epinettes but are marked, so the ticket gives you a 35 sq m pitch anywhere on the site on a fill up basis and access to the site for a vehicle regardless of the number of passengers, so room to park a car and pitch a tent.

Face value of the ticket is €100 so £90 ish.  The ticket can be posted this week or collected at Le Mans from Tue 11 Jun. I'm open to 'sensible' offers.

He made very good use of the additional time he was granted after his crash in '76.  Godspeed and RIP.

Russ,

Excellent as always and delighted to see the tribute to Rex, wholly appropriate.  I'll establish the requirement amongst our group and PM you once I have that.

Looking forward to Jun and am sure there will be a fair number of us who will be pleased to join you on 14th to celebrate his life.
