Our group will be having a toast to 1955, but specially for our own lost companion (Probably at Tertre Rouge) bar 18.36 on Wednesday 11th.

Roger Vernon Price was at the 1955 event and only moved away from the circuit to re-load some camera film preventing him from being in the firing line!
He sadly passed away on 6th April this year after a long fight with bowel cancer, aged 88.
I knew him for many years at the end of his life but he had never returned to LM after 1955!

He was featured in the book, Le Mans Winning Colours after I interviewed him for Mick Hill.

His favourite beer Doombar and favourite snack, penguins all round for us!

Probably not Barry. The ACO don’t seem to want it remembered. Sees it only warrants a tiny plaque on the pit straight wall

That's what I understood and expected.
Shame especially as most of the people killed were locals.

Does anybody know if there are any plans to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the 1955 accident on June 11th or at any time during the week?

Hi All
Have seen the QR code…
Also bought access to the ACO area at La Chappelle. Anyone have any idea where that shows or do you present your membership card?
DW

In past years you had to go to the ACO building on the pit straight to pick up a wristband and a goody bag. The wrist band will get you into the fan area at La Chappelle and the ACO building where you can use the showers and decent bogs. They also have lockers you can use to save you carrying your sh*t backwards and forward from the campsite. Plus the beer in there is cheaper than the rest of the circuit.

You were also able to get the wristbands at the entrance of La Chapelle ACO area, although last time I used it it was pre covid and free for members!
Certainly Wed/Thurs.
Did hear that the areas have been rammed on the race days, like everywhere else.

Last year there was no pedestrian access to Houx.
Camping pass holders only.

That sounds stupid.   That would suggest you can't leave on foot and get the Tram in to town. I was in Houx last year and I'm sure I when out on foot a couple of times and I came back on foot too.  As you enterthere is a pedestrian gate to the left.

So envious of those who are going this year

As am I, except for the 2 covid effected races this will be first one I've missed since I started going in 2002!
Hopefully my health will have improved sufficiently for a return in 2026.
