This year for Lemans im thinking of doing something different. Ive found flights to tours airport for about £40 return but they only fly from Stansted  :(

I can get from Tours to Leman easy as my parents will be at there house then but my issue is getting from the North West to Stansted and back as i dont want to leave my car there.

Im planning to fly out on the wednesday before leman and come home on the monday. Any ideas or should i just drive to leman as thats my other option  :D

The car parks at Stanstead are good, have used them many times. But if not, take the train to London, get to Liverpool Street and take the Stansted Express straight to the terminal.

Or go cross country to Cambridge and then down via Bishops Stortford. Train will be your best choice if you don't want to drive.

Kev - I agree, the car parks are good, and I think if you book far enough ahead not bad price.

I have use them in the past, no problems.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

Kev. Why don't you want to park the car at Stanstead?

Kev, if you're really keen on coming to East Anglia, we may have a place in a car for you (and you can forget the flight altogether).

Alternatively, take the train from Manchester to Euston (just over 2 hours) and the Stansted Express to the airport.  Book ahead on www.thetrainline.com and you should get a good advance deal.

Kev, I think you are over gilding the lily a wee bit.

I've seen plenty of cars at Stansted's long and medium term carparks (as I use them regulary) that are probably far more exotic and desirable from a 'breaking in' point of view than your pride and joy - no offence meant.  No breakins.

My wife has parked her various V8 engined beasts there without problems.  Once she went away for a week having accidently dropped her keys by the car in the carpark.  The keys were handed in to lost and found.

The official 'on site' car parks have satisfactory security measures / cameras / patrols and aren't a problem.

I would, however, steer well clear of those cheap and cheerful 'valet' park-it-in-a-field places that are off-site.

You pays your money etc etc......
