I see the test day returns for next year, but on Sunday 6th, that is the Sunday prior to race weekend.

It'll be interesting to see what they do about scrutineering as that would traditionally be the first day of Pesage in town. Plus there is usually scrutineering on the Saturday prior to the test day. Will they just do it once? Time will tell I guess.
Of course I buy green cars, my Aston is green, my MGB is green, my Disco Sport is green,  oh, that's not what you meant by green?

Change the ferries then so that we arrive in on Saturday morning a week before the race day!
Baldrick, my Lord! But I can change it to Ploppy if it'll make things easier.

Knowing the times it may all change again  :-\

You've been before ;D

Test day on the Sunday before does conflict with scrutineering, and gives little time to have spares made and flown in.  More importantly, it upsets my plans, as its set up day, pizza and watch the Baku Grand Prix.

Its practice for 2022, when everything will clash with our Jubilee double bank holiday :o

But after 2020, it sounds good to me.

2 options, move scrutineering to Monday/Tuesday or do it before the test day.
Woe betide any team who has a major whoopsie on test day, but that is also true on normal practice/qualifying days anyway.

There is usually scrutineering prior to the test day, so the sensible thing would be to do just the one on the Saturday prior to test day,  however....  They are French of course. ::)

Alas, Test Day exists for a number of reasons. One of which, of course, is to test/decide different concepts. One potential risk with one scrutineering before Test Day could be an increased probability of another debacle like the Andrettis rejection just before race time in '82.

This might rule out scrutineering in town for next year.
I can see them do scrutineering for the test day on Friday/Saturday (or Thursday/Friday) at the track (as always with test day), and a second scrutineering for the race on Monday afternoon/Tuesday also at the track as they did this year.  Was way faster than the usual 'show' in town, and also easy to organise for media to take the team shots on the track itself.

I've got a feeling that the first half of 2021 might be very similar to 2020 with very limited access to races for spectators and media.

As I suspected, just the one round of scrutineering, on the Friday and Saturday prior to the test day.

I'm assuming that this could be in town, and the first indication will be if they sell us tickets

Then, in essence, Sunday becomes just another practice day as no changes to the car can be made as there is no further scrutineering......?

Are there any hints or news on when they might start selling?

Somebody did mention "after Christmas".  The 2nd wave has slowed things down, but the vaccines should speed things up.

Plus I presume they won't start selling tickets until they are confident that there is a good chance that a reasonable crowd will be allowed, at the moment the signs still aren't good.
