We've got three Harleys coming with us this year and we're camping in Bleu Nord - the bikers are not keen on getting a camping ticket each and were asking whether there is a safe place to park their bikes and jump in the cars with us for camping - I can't remember seeing any secure bike parks anywhere - can anyone help?

You can take the three bikes in on one ticket provided you only take up one camping space.

We took thre Moto Guzzis in that way last year.

Thanks for that - the ACO says that a camping ticket is need for each vehicle (including motorbikes) - which campsite did you stay at?

Barry

Blue sud has, for the last 4 years, required a ticket for each bike taken in.
Sometimes they check, sometimes they don't.
Tickets are only €36 though.

I don't know of a secure bike parking area, so the ticket might be cheaper than having a Harley nicked.

Harley's have their own built in anti-theft protection, its called "Failure to Start".
Sorry for picking on them but I'm American and think they are completely over-hyped, over-priced, over-weight junk.  But hey, Schue-boy seems to love 'em.  That's enough for me right there to hate them.

I thought you could get a PARKING ONLY ticket to some sites for bikes, provided you enter with a camping pass in the group ?

Never heard of those Robbo, but would be very intrested if anybody can let me know what camp sites and where to get them.

We biked for about 10 years.
Always stayed on Blue. Sometimes they wanted to see tickets, sometimes they didn't.
As far as I'm aware, there is no secure parking for bikes anywhere at Le Mans - it's not a HOG Rally!. I would suspect, as stated previously, you're better off parking the bikes on a camp site.
It's interesting to note that it's impossible to securely retain a pass on a bike.
You could load your kit from the bike into a car and then ride onto the site, without any kit on board the bike, as though you were returning from a local ride and claim the pass has been nicked form the bike.
Unethical, I know. But it works.
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem.

With the glue the ACO use on the camping tickets your lucky to get the bloody things off!
Never argue with an idiot, they'll only drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

You could try contacting Alan at Auberge Le Bounty. he's a keen biker. He may agree to you parking up the bikes there....pm me if you want contact details. Its just off the n138 near Teloche only 4 km south of Mulsanne. :)
