Errr Ummm..
Well, that looks like Lammers behind the wheel, and I'd have a stab at 89 for the year. But hold on, I'm sure Lammers drove the number 1 car. Is this a trick question?
It's raining, so there's a good chance that it's Silverstone, or was it Donnington? But, the car isn't in sprint trim. If I remember right, TWR used to cut out the bodywork around the rear wheels for the shorter races.
Ohhh I dunno:
Suzuka
WSC 1000km
1989
Lammers.

Hi Big H - good stab there.

It is indeed Jan Lammers driving. Not a trick question. You're right about him driving the no. 1 car in 1989. The race in question he partnered Martin Brundle who ended up being the Driver's Champion that particular year, so.....

And as for the circuit, given that it is raining .. another circuit (in)famous for it's weather?

 ;D

it could be Spa as its weather is not better than English one...
Le Mans is life, anything before and after is just waiting...

... it's not the taking part but the winning that counts !

Curcuit is Spa, red and white apex gives it away, plus the bloody rain. Was going to say XJR 9 in 88 but that would be wrong.
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

Splendid! Well done chaps! And the event at Spa? (In terms of distance if you know what I mean?).

Oh and to be really pedantic (Gilles, that translates as me being a pain in the arse), whereabouts on the circuit?  ;D

  • You don't win Le Mans - you outlast it.

It looks like he just left Blanchimont and the picture was taken through the trees.
I don't care - I'm a racing driver and I'm here to win, not to finish third.

Nope. Not a fair question really as there's so little to go on in the piccie! OK, it was up at Les Combes in the short chute between the wiggly bit (note use of highly technical terminology) and the right hander before they drop down the hill. Spent the whole race walking round the outside of the circuit. Was my first visit to Spa and I was not disappointed - awesome!!

Most impressive was the fact that the tins of Stella they were selling were frozen solid and welded themselves to my hand on initial contact. Least impressive was the undercooked sausage!!

Later in the circuit, we managed to sneak right up to the barrier as they rejoined the public road section but alas the photos I took were useless. A combination of high speed and the fact that by then we had had several cans of frozen Stella by then!!

Still my favourite circuit (yes, even more so than Lemons!!!).
