Hi Jon, you'll have a ball camping, what always impressed me was the laughter, all you hear when walking through the camp sites is people having a laugh, most will set out with the intention of doing somthing or having something that will create a laugh.
CA numbers are a bit down this year but still in the 70-80's I think.
As for sparkes for charging phones, camera's and MP3 players etc, a 12 to 240v inverter is ideal, plug it into your car and away you go. Genny's are ideal for Fridge Freezers, lighting and Mega watt sound systems.
Re keeping things cool, if your not taking a fridge/freezer, beer bargining will normally result in a friendly neighbor rotating freezer packs to keep your basics in a cool box cool.
