Are the tolls For Motorcycles the same as for cars? Are they route through the same gates? never really noticed, but as I am going on the bike, just wondered?

I think bikes are half fare.  There are some odd rules too, like keeping your lights on, and having you dangly bits cut off for going 30mph over the limit, which is automatic in most towns and villages

Yep, all the same. So now you finally know what that small arm pocket with zipper on your leathers was for; your flexi-friend ;)

Not in France they aren't.
Cars and light vans are Class 1. Motorcycles are Class 5.
Whilst bikes are not half price, they are cheaper. Boulogne to Abbeville North on the A16 costs €7.30 for a car and €4.60 for a bike. Corresponding rates A13 to Alencon, €15.00 and €9.50
Note that using the credit card only lane will result in you being charged the full Class 1 rate. So if you are on a bike, choose a booth with an operator.

Ian, if you are on a bike, what are you doing using the autoroutes?
The normal roads are brilliant.

Yes that is the plan I have a route down through Pont-LVeque, Lisieux, Vimoutiers, Gace, then the Last bit on the A28, however if the weather is crap, I plan to just cruise down the Autoroute and get down asap.

Hi Snoring,
Ultimate delight is to go to the races on the bike. I envy you. One day when the lottery comes in and they have built the bridge over the Atlantic I will make it on two wheels ;D

Look out for the Tiger tank just outside of Vimoutiers.

I love that road, it holds special memories as Vimoutiers is where the Commer first broke down.
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

Must pale into insignificance given the million other places it has broken down though surely?
