Audi moving away from Diesel???
« on: June 11, 2010, 09:45:22 am »
Did I hear correctly last night during quali that Audi are going to try something else next year as "diesel has been done now" and "there is nothing more to do on that front".

Does this mean a LMP1 hybrid or a move into the GT's with the R8???

Next year could be interesting  :-\
They have lumps of what round the back???

They stated on eurosport before that it would be some sort of all wheel drive, but to keep within the ACO, regs that it would be selective, 2 wheels powered by the engine and the other two some form of eco power.

Was that the thing they were talking about that was similar to K.E.R.S in F1???

Store a percentage of energy up then use it to drive the front wheels for a burst of power out of corners.

Surely they'll be made go back to petrol power if thats the case. Imagine the current diesel burners with even more kick out of corners  :o

Id love to see everyone back on a level (ish) playing field and those Astons in with a shout of the podium  ;D
