Parking availabllity at the gate
« on: June 30, 2010, 08:28:10 pm »
Past years at the main event  I have paid ta the gate to park at Arnage .This had been stopped for this years event and was  pre booked parking only only (resulting in two empty car parks ). Does anyone know if this is the case for classic? Or if any of the carparks are avialable without booking?

You can still pre book Parking.

I doubt that they will sell out so you should be able to buy on the day too.

This always confuses me as for the last 2 years when we've went down to Arnage at around 4am, we've never paid to park.

Can also confirm that when we went to Mulsanne on Sunday at about 11 am we did not have a pass and absolutely nobody cared. Pretty much every car was without pass.

Guess they might be pretty hot at the start for the passes but don't expect it lasts.

We got stung at Mulsanne corner for a parking ticket on the Saturday morning when we went down to watch the Porker and Group C support races.  But we didn't venture down to Arnage or Mulsanne again so no idea how hot they were on checking them later in the weekend.

During the Classic in the past Mulsanne has been beautifully deserted with not even anybody asking to see tickets.  The biggest problem was finding it - especially on the Friday evening when we go for our trackside picnic - as it was unsigned.

Arnage was open on the Saturday of the last Classic but no restriction on entry that I remember - very peaceful compared to 24 weekend.

Id say the sight of a dodgey looking geordie,a couple of scousers and a jock in a people carrier at 4 in the morning was enough for them to let us park where ever we like  ;D
They have lumps of what round the back???
