Chelsea Auto Legends
« on: August 02, 2010, 05:07:46 pm »
Sunday 5th September at the Royal Hospital Chelsea is the Chelsea Auto Legends day in aid of the Chelsea Pensioners

www.chelseaautolegends.com

It's billed as having "a special tribute to Steve McQueen".

The strap line reads; Celebrating The Spirit Of Le Mans. 'The Heritage. The Heroes. The Legend'

Admin is £12 online, in advance only. Accompanied under 16's free.

Sounds like a plan to me.

FS,

Have a look at the link that reads "register your car".  It's on the right hand side of the main page.

Car Entry Application Form

Car Entry Guidelines: Chelsea AutoLegends welcomes marques of all vintages with a Le Mans racing heritage, entered in one of three categories:
1) Classic
2) Racing Cars
3) Supercar & Sportscars

Wonder if you could get the Fiat in there?

Looked to be some nice cars there looking at those pictures, shame they cramed them all up so close to each other and against a fence, why on earth display stuff so close to each other that you can't get a proper look at the car other than from the front. >:(

Great pictures - thanks.
Erm.....there are two shots of the Gulf DB9R #009, one undercover and still carrying what looks like 24hr muck and the other in the open air and very clean. Did they wash it during the day or am I missing something??
I tested negative for patience.

Two different vehicles.......unless they swapped the bonnet, front fenders, door mirrors and front splitter during the cleaning process.

Le Mans is for the week......not just 24hrs!

There were, indeed, two different 009's

The "dirty" one is the real LM GT1 winner, still resplendent in its LM 2008 dirt.  Yours for a 'mere' £950,000

The lady in question was Kate Silverton, who's always been my favourite Monday to Friday lunchtime news on the BBC female news presenter-type person  ;)

Kate Silverton

Another hand wringing Guardian reading leftie, who would ban any dangerous sport, including motor racing, if they had a chance, cos someone might get hurt.

One of the reasons I now watch Sky news rather than the ever so slightly biased Beeb.

Presume you were not admiring her mind. ;)
