Garyfrogeye's tying the knot...
« on: October 13, 2010, 10:23:32 am »
I met up with Garyfrogeye at our customary haunt of the ACE Cafe, for the monthly Classic Car night there yesterday.  The usual eclectic mix of machinery was there (a couple of real rarities with a Monteverdi, a completely rust-free Alfa GTV) to the not so rare, with Gary's shabby chic frog very neatly offset the effect created by the stunningly immaculate red DB5 parked next to it.

In between chatting about the assembled cars during our familiar wander around them, Gary just happened to mention that he and Lois have decided, after 13 years of living in sin together, to get married next April (sensible chap, staying welll clear of June).

So, good luck to them both and while he was happy for this news to be shared widely, he will probably attempt to remain tight-lipped about the venue, in a vain effort to prevent CAers from meeting respective families on the great day, there is time yet to work out a cunning plan....

Congratulations Gary!

Wonder what he'll use as a wedding car?? ;)
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

Congrats Gary.

The above is good advice.  The venue I got married in, is still trying to recover after CA'ers turned up....

My usual response on hearing this news is naturally, "you damned fool, run away..."

However

I have had the pleasure of meeting the delicious Lois and will simply say

Congratulations to you both

This is definitely the best thing you could do

IIRC you invited said CAers to you wedding because you had some strange misconception that they would be well behaved.

Gary - Congratulations

If you can get past the huge bill for the bottle of Vodka that went "missing" the "car bars" (which was a good idea given the stupid price charged for beer - just poorly executed), and the running around until all hours terrorising the local community...oh and Rex's amazing ability to remove his clothes at any given opportunity - they were all well behaved.  Good behaviour though, is relative :)
