Just been checking on prices , is it just me or are they higher this year?

Or have I waited too long?

Yes looked this year and last, prices are higher, cheapest way of getting there thisyear for me is P&O via Dover.

Love the overnight one from Porstmouth, but even taking account of extra fuel needed, still worked out cheaper P&O way.

Due to my austerity measures, need the money for Beer  ;D

There are some Eurotunnel bargains at the mo' (20,000 cheap tickets) but they may be all gone by now, dunno.  Worth a try though if the route suits.

Last year I paid £278 for Portsmouth-Cherbourg-Poole

This year I'm paying £222 for Portsmouth-Cherbourg-Portsmouth

Same car.  Same number of pax.  Same dates.

Only difference is I booked in October rather than February.

@Redstu: if you don't mind putting those few extra miles on the road, check norfolkline Dover to Dunkirk.
Just checked their price for one vehicle on dates 6 - 13 june, and they're offering £58.00 including fuel charge (whatever that is).

Darn well worth those extra few miles in France, it's only 20 minutes north of Calais!

Check with www.aferry.to.  I went over with Norfolk Lines in November, and it was cheaper with aferry.to than Norfolk's own website - there was no fuel surcharge.
