Did anyone book MB via the ACO?
« on: April 12, 2011, 03:12:43 pm »
I was wondering if any ACO members had managed to book Maison Blanche via the ACO?

I know that their ordering system was a bit of a balls up but they may get it right next year!

Only 8 weeks to "the Off" !

I did.   But it was quite a struggle.

I didn't succeed, and my first request was sent at 1 second past midnight French time on the day bookings opened.
They lost/deleted it. >:(

When no MB places appeared on the website for weeks, I e-mailed them and moaned (in French, you are right) that I felt the members had got a rotten deal and that the "priority booking" was a total farce.  But I did play the disabled card and explain that BN and other sites are a bore for me.  The next day they e-mailed me and swapped my BN places for MB ones.    This was the week before the bookings were opened up to non members.

Whether it was the French or the wheelchair which did it, I don't know.

Even the most diehard MB fan may question the sense of a close encounter with a lorry just to ensure MB tickets ;)

they did email me to ask if i wanted MB again this year,as ive been on the "special"list for years.
They did say though that I would have to renew my Club 24 membership if I wanted them.
I didnt,so I didnt!

If people need tickets next year I have a decent supply of marshals guest passes (plastic credit card size) at reasonable prices. I think they are all gone this year though but if people are interested I'll check. Mostly they aren't available until they sign on, which for most is the Wednesday. One never knows with the ACO, but last year they did at least give paddock access although the free seating over the pits has been removed.
