I'd keep your pants on till Xmas if I were you, don't believe this 40 weeks tosh, the little buggers can appear weeks before that, one of ours was 5 weeks early, and a friends 8.

Fixed date should be known around January, hope they'll get it sooner.  Can't take any hotel bookings yet, they're all waiting on the date to be announced.  

Was thinking about dropping the Ring from my schedule next year and head on to Goodwood & LM Classic instead ... (unless someone needs a guide over at the Nordschleife  )

Its impossible to calulate the number of sleeps till lift off. Are you counting the falling asleep on the couch, waking up mid morning and then crawling into bed for another hour, or counting falling asleep in the car on journeys (hopefully not whilst driving, been there done that and not recommended) or catching up with a bit of sleep on the bog at work.

See its just not something you can calculate.

Looking at the ACO 'pre-entry' list this morning, I noticed a significant line...

"Please note that all teams entered in the FIA World Endurance Championship are automatically qualified for the 2012 Le Mans 24 Hours."

I wonder how that might affect the decision of private teams considering the WEC...
