http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motogp/15420069.stmReports are that he is critical, but others suggest he has died. Horrific crash that saw his helmet ripped off, terrible.

RIP Marco Simoncelli. Great rider and rising talent. Just seen the accident, horrible, the ones where riders are hit by other bikes are always the worst, first time I've seen a helmet come off.

I switched on Eurosport to watch MotoGP and they were just rpping up the programm saying due to major incident this programme has been cancelled. You Tube have withdrawn it and reports are all different at present RIP - Wildman Simoncelli

Awful accident, nothing Edwards and Rossi could have done to avoide it.

A really sad week, first the devastating news about Dan Wheldon, then my favourite stock car driver retires from the sport I love the most, then announcement at work of a 50 % cut in jobs in our department and Marco Simoncelli's death this morning to bookend the week.
Wish I could forget this week to be honest.
R.I.P. Marco Simoncelli.

Just posted this elsewhere .......
A classic case of burning twice as bright and lasting half as long. Simoncelli was a delight to watch racing, his uncompromising style was harsh but fair, I always thought, and his outlandish style always made me smile, Charlie Cox once said " it isn't a riding style, it's crisis management!" This forum can be a bit sniffy about other forms of the fine art, but Motorsport in general needs personalities, unfortunately it has lost two this week and our world is a duller place because of it.
RIP Dan Wheldon
RIP Marco Simoncelli

A tremendous loss to motor racing, as mentioned a brilliant champion, racer, and personality. The Simoncelli AGV replica I purchased at Indy has been cleaned, returned to its box and retired to the top shelf of my closet. Arrivederci Campione! Godspeed Marco. Fax
