Via a friend met Nic at a 1/8 RC car meeting a few years ago just outside Reading, Very nice guy, no airs or graces.

Lewis I the same according to those who have raced against him at the same place.

Kind of honest hat a F1 driver still finds time to race a 1/8 r/c car with his brother.
Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better.

I watched it the other night (having first double checked it didnt feature the dreaded Neil and Christine!).

The whole family came across really well and even Lewis seemed a bit more natural and less polished than he usually appears.  It also somewhat changed my views of Anthony Hamilton for the better. :)

I would have been interested to hear how other the drivers actually racing on the track with him felt about being up against someone with physical difficulties - whether they would have perceived him to be more of a risk (but presumably no-one would have said anything to camera even if they had any misgivings).

He's certainly got something up his *rse.  Mrs H was lovely though and I guess it's she who's rubbed off on Nick the most.

Good telly, I thought.  Worth a look.

I actually thought Mr H came across quite well.  I hadn't really liked him much before, but my views have softened a bit now!!!

A great bit of Telly, well done Auntie Beeb. I thought they all came accross really well and it changed my opinion of Lewis and his dad for the better.

I guess if you don't come from money, and work every hour god sends to get enough money to send your son Karting, and he goes on to become the best chance that Britain has of a multiple F1 World champion, you're probably entitled to be a tiny bit arrogant about your achievements?

As for Lewis - I did a charity kart race against him whilst he was still in F3 ES. We had a massive, dicing battle, trading blows and racing lines for.....a whole corner.....after which he disappeared into the distance........ >:D
