Looks like my prediction in the CA Guide is unfortunately right and the ELMS becomes the first casualty of that new WEC thingy: According to German media reports onyl 13 cars will be on the grid at Donington - that will be an all-time low! I wonder if this might be the last ELMS race for this year  Sad

You don't win Le Mans - you outlast it.

Confirmed by DSC... rather sad. Is this the end of the ELMS ?

Yes, Donington grid does look a bit thin compared with the first race at Le Castellet this year.
Very sad to see the series 'peter out' like that, <groan>

( BTW 'Donington Park' is the race circuit in Leicestershire. 'Donnington' with 'nn' is in West Sussex AFAIK, so make sure you put the right one in your satnav )

There is also a lesser-known Donington only a few miles up the A15 from me, between Sleaford and Boston on the A52. This is the same Donington where a certain Mr. Pirro incorrectly entered his satnav destination and went to a good few years back. His Audi R8 was waiting for him some 60 miles to the West  Grin

There is a field of 20+ GT cars entered in the GT open at Brands Hatch this weekend, why have 2 series competeing for the same teams/drivers over the same weekend in the same country.

Crazy.

The village is Castle Donington and East Midlands Airport is very close. Before going to Brooklands this year it was the only UK circuit I have been to.
Well before the dwarf messed it up.
