Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better.

Not sure if the actual numbers would make that much difference, but the areas that they are allowing them to have bigger/more of all stack up to make them potentially more competitive against factory LMP1s.  Might make it more entertaining than the recent 1 or 2-horse races?

It could well make a difference - Toyota did a lot last year with comparatively little budget and some clever engineering and certainly made Audi sit up and take notice; we can only hope that this pulls the field slightly closer together .....

yep clever engineering is the answer coupled with a few bounuses will close the gap between big and smaller teams.but if audi and toyota came out with non hybrid petrol engined cars it would be back to square one.

I think that yes it will give a measurable performance boost to the petrol powered non-hybrid privateers, but will it allow the likes of Strakka and Rebellion to challenge the works teams? ... probably not.

The 'BoP' formula is fiendishly difficult to manage. The ACO (quite rightly) tinker very gently and infrequently with tank and restrictor sizes. The WEC committee may not be so circumspect. I sense an end-of-honeymoon period for the ACO-FIA joint venture is in prospect. If history is destined to repeat itself, expect Le Mans to drop off the WEC season in 2015 (if the series lasts that long).
