Green GT backs out of 'Garage 56'
« on: June 01, 2013, 10:11:42 am »
It looks like we will not see the Green GT at Le Mans after all.

Sad but not entirely surprising.

Jean-Michel Bouresche - Sales & Marketing Director GreenGT: "First of all, we wish to thank ACO for its confidence in GreenGT. Box 56 is a splendid initiative for encouraging innovative technologies. The GreenGT H2 fits perfectly into this scenario and, although the Le Mans 2013 event has come too soon for us, we are actively working with ACO on a worldwide presentation programme for the GreenGT H2.."

No great surprise.
Can someone from the reserve list fill its space?
Never argue with an idiot, they'll only drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

What a pity >:(! Not that I really like the Green GT - on the pictures I saw it looks rather ugly - but I love the idea of allowing competitors to race new technologies outside the competition.

For privateers or small teams putting a hydrogen car on track is probably a little bit too ambitious - you need serious budget and engineering ressources. The labs of Toyota, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and the like should be full of such stuff - I actually hope that more manufactorers will be going for a Garage 56 entry in the future.

I would expect this at least from the one which claims to have "Vorsprung durch Technik"....

hoping that the car would break down. I came away in love with the place." - Eddie Irvine

From the ACO: Prospeed to take the place of Green GT
Following the withdrawal of the GreenGT H2, selected in the context of the Le Mans 24-Hours 56th garage, the no. 75 Porsche entered by the ProSpeed Racing team has been selected to take part in the race on 22-23 June 2013.

Shame as I was quite interested in this after reading about it last year.
