St Saturnin Classic British Welcome
« on: July 22, 2013, 08:32:44 pm »
We have been talking about doing this for a few years, so on Friday the 13th we are going to give it a go, just wondering if anyone has been and got any views on it ?

Agree - St Saturnin great.

Apparently..........

13 and Friday are considered bad or even evil day in many Christian countries and hence the fear of Friday 13th. However the French love to be different as we know and they consider Friday 13th a lucky day and eg sales of lottery tickets rise on that day.

So from that I deduce that we are likely to be in a better position to be in France on 13.6.14 than anywhere else, so another good reason (as if we needed one) to be at Le Mans.

Perhaps Steve Wright could use that as a factoid.

Fitting everything in to the day on each LM Friday is the challenge, but St Saturnin usually sits there at the top of destinations because of all the classic cars and the relaxed clean and cultured atmosphere there compared to what we can momentarily leave behind at the campsite and circuit.

Best way to visit is by motorbike, looks a bit of a pain by car.

Was a bit painful when leaving but not too bad.  Bike would be better.

Thanks for that fella's, I have put that in for a very early start on Friday ( not sure how an early start will fair with the troops, but o well  >:D ). Being that we are all classic / modified petrol heads that for us will be a good start to the day, then on to piston heads Friday service  :) :).

Andy and I went up there about lunch time in his '64 Corvette.  By that time, the place was rammed and we ended up parking in the far field.
Plenty of admiring comments of the car though.

It was OK.... we were debating many topics in the car anyway.
We still got to where we'd planned at the right time.  ;D
