Mulsanne on a sunny June Sunday; it's a hard life!

Ok this one has been bugging us for years. Assuming you've seen the fabulous "La Ronde Infernale" video of the incredible 1969 24 Hours (which I've just watched AGAIN), there is a song at the beginning and the end which is a classic piece of French music. But what is it?

Have you tried Shazam?

I have LRI on VHS but the player has not been unboxed since last house move and is buried in the loft. I can't remember the music, but I know someone who might be able to identify it if you can upload a wav or mp3.

Would you like an mp3?

I wouldn't call it classical in the normal sense, its some little ditty that they fitted the words "Le vingt quatre heures du Mans to.

Job done.

There's a longer section during the night/fairground section, but it's ruined by those noisy cars

Thanks, I'll forward to the man who might know the answer.

Yes it does sound a bit "Sunday night at the London Palladium".  I remember doing my homework to the background of SNATLP with the aroma of my mum ironing my school shirt ready for Monday morning!

I have just stumbled across this. I have wanted to get this song for a very long time: is there any chance someone could forward me the MP3, too? I would really be grateful.

No worries folks - the French Connection is here to help. The song is "Milord" by Edith Piaf.

Now stop that, this is an Edith Piaf free zone under the Geneva Convention
