What a surprise! Obviously the Audi engineers read the rule book very carefully. While the spirit of the reglement is to encourage Hybrid technology, Audi went one step back and will actually use less electricity than they did last year - they'll just use just the minimum required by the regulations. Instead - because the reglement doesn't limit this any more - they increased engine volume of their conventional part of the powertrain from 3.7 to 4.0 litres. I'm sure the ACO/FIA had something different in mind when they wrote the rule book  ;D ;D ;D

A new addition (I think) is the laser lights which can illuminate for a half mile according to my free Audi magazine. This will compliment their matrix LED headlights, which by-the-way are now available on the new A8, race to road.

... don't they have some new fancy GPS guided "free the road" rocket system on board for this purpose?  ;D

I have only seen that on a black A4 Avant from Guernsey... Do not think it is on racing versions  ;D
