Dear all .

I'm very sorry to tell you all in this way, but last week, Wednesday 2nd April, Peter passed away from his long term cancer.

His funeral is on April. 23rd near to Christchurch, Dorset.

It will be a double funeral as his father passed away 3 days later!

I've spoken with diedre, whose asked me to let you all know. Anyone who wishes to attend is welcome, but she needs to know numbers for the catering afterwards.

The dress will be bright clothing.

All the best Robbo.

You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!

So sorry to hear this. I had some great times with Peter over the years and many happy memories remain. In the past he was a prolific poster on Club Arnage, who will ever forget the which is best, Houx Annexe or Maison Blanche thread of six or seven years ago. Maybe he was a cantancarous old bastard at times but he sure was a loveable cantancarous old bastard. Rest in Peace Peter. I'm honoured to have known you.

Very sad to hear. Always enjoyed his posts on many subjects and his love all things motoring and flying.

I loved every minute I spent with Peter including those I didn't even remember next day! None more so than the "Night of the Demon" we had in Deauville post LM Classic 2004 with Mark JPC and Steve Zarse. One of the drunkest nights of my life, our ferry had sailed next morning before we had even gone to bed Smiley

RIP buddy

Very sad news.  The poor old bugger had more than a battle with cancer.  Many a happy hour was spent chatting about Le Mans, Houx Annex, scuba diving and Nikon cameras ..... and, of course, black open top sports cars  Smiley

Here's FS (as he was universally known), on the left, back in 2004 at the 2nd LM Classic - enjoying a damn fine lunch and a few adult beverages at our little enclave on MB.

RIP Peter.

This is very sad news, our sincere condolences to Diedre, yes he was a cantankerous old bugger but a good man to the core.
If anyone needs a staging post or accommodation for the funeral you are welcome to stay at mine.

Im really sad to read this as I have had many a good conversation with Peter on private message although never got to meet the chap. RIP and thoughts with the family

*Just went and looked at some of the messages to which I laughed as he used to set me photography assignments and then critic the shots to help me learn!

Sad day really for me as I'll get no more!

I had the pleasure of meeting Peter a few times over the years but even whilst he was having his treatment, he still had time to give me kind words via PM after my accident in 2010 even though his needs were probably greater than mine at the time....R.I.P Peter Smiley

I remember a conversation with him at Dover docks about the detail of the treatment he'd been under, it sounded horrendous.

Funnily enough Phil and I mentioned him at Sebring this year, as one of those who had not been seen on here in a while. Not forgotten, then or now.

RIP Peter.

Sad to hear. I too had the pleasure of meeting Peter. Camped in the same group on Houx Annex with Bob U and the Zarse before they built on it. On the topic of diving i remember his line. Swiming in the sea without SCUBA is like going to the Circus and looking at the outside of the Tent.
RIP FS. Condolences to Diedre and the family.
