So I thought I'd be a smart arse and take all my pictures manually this year and they are in the "RAW" format.

Now I'm finding it difficult to save them / open them and upload them to anything ffs

Welcome to my world, manual and raw  .  You'll need to convert the raw files into jpeg, either through lightroom/aperture or photoshop.

Neil and I were looking at a freeze frame on the TV from the eurosport helicam last week.
