CA Guide Donations
« on: June 19, 2014, 05:04:22 pm »
A quick note to say thank you to all those who donated to in response to the CA Guide.

We have received more donations and a higher total than the past few years - to date 36 people/organisations have donated £281, although this came in several different currencies including CHF, DKK, USD and of course Euro and GBP.

The account remains open such that people who have 'forgotten' to donate can still do so.

On behalf of Club Arnage, many thanks.

Del

Del,

The guide is a great publication - well worth the price of an ACO beer.  I am certain that you could easily sell it.

Isn't that total twice the amount from previous years?

It may have helped a little that the Guide and the fact that we collect for charity got a mention Thursday before the race in the online edition of Germany's largest weekly magazine "Der Spiegel". They posted also the link in it.

If someone has an idea (or contacts) how to raise awareness about the guide in the british media next year say 2 - 4 weeks prior to the race... that might raise even more donations.

However, downloads are the lowest number since we produce the guide (max. 2.000) - but I think that has to do with the fact that now there is more information on the web about Le Mans than it was when we did the first edition in 2006.

hoping that the car would break down. I came away in love with the place." - Eddie Irvine

My daughter is a copyrighter working with all levels of media in London. She may well have some contacts who could help. I'll ask her when I see her next.

Ok, few large glasses of wine with my dinner and I nearly have a thinking head on, this may cause positive conversation, if you think it is crxp  - shut-up, at least I have an idea. (love you all honest).

Sell some advertising to the ticket sellers 1st Tickets etc. easier said than done I know but £50 for a page etc, while it is too late for the race it is available for it is still being well used, the whole thing is about the subliminal aspect of promoting their brand for the following year. While doing this we could also offer them banner advertising on the header between the CA logo and the thing on the right, whatever it is See-saw or something, Someone will probably say that here is a prob with tax or something but there are ways around everything.

So, four or five ticket sellers @ £150 per head and £50 per page for the advert in the guide you are starting to raise a couple of quid, add in the fact that you may, once a month, add a free promotional button for them linked to whatever they want may make a quid. Even if you properly discount for a package rate there is still potentially a couple of hundred pounds, minimal, to be made.

We could also as an add-on add link buttons to their sites on the front page.
