Holy Task Force! I was out and about on Friday 'artnoon somewhere around the Haslemere part of the world when I heard this awful racket, at first I thought someone was after me with a herd of badly tuned lawnmowers then I realized the din was from above. Looking up (isn't that sooo uncomfortable these days?), and then lying down, I could hardly believe what was up there. There was 3 or maybe 4 triplanes, and what looked like a recon type biplane (lots of windows and a Sainsbury's trolley for undercarriage), and worst of all at least 3 of them were sporting German insignia. I couldn't tell from where I was, but I imagine most of Haslemere were putting on their tin hats and heading for the bunkers. I quickly phoned a friend in Berlin and asked him what the word on the streets was, but he couldn't (or wouldn't...) tell me anything. That was two days ago, and as far as I can tell Surrey isn't yet in the hands of the Hun, so maybe Haslemere's residents are back out in the daylight now, mind you, you can't be too careful though.

The planes looked fantastic!

H

Hmm, I'm not sure if I'd be flattered on insulted if someone told me I had undercarriage like a Sainsbury's trolley. I think I'd be flattered, not sure about Sainsburys though.

Aircraft? Cars?

Renaultsport Club have their annual gathering tomorrow, Sunday 14th, at the RAF  :police: Museum Cosford. Loads of none too shabby Renaults in attendance along with some specials being brought along by the official Renaultsport arm. All this on the site of an outstanding aviation museum whose café serves legendary bacon sarnies.

See you there!
Go placidly amidst the noise and haste....

I'm gutted to have missed it. It would have been visible over my house if it had stuck to the route Sunderland to Boulmer. I only find out about its flight from reading on here about one hour too late.

I saw her take off from Doncaster yesterday and will be there again this afternoon to see her land.

They have a very good twitter feed which tells of take off times and routes overhead. @xh558

Very pleased to have seen her at Cosford yesterday

That Twitter feed is very useful when tracking her, I think it must be kept up to date by one of the flight crew

"We're coming in to Elvington now, give us a wave" is the sort of info it gives live

Almost makes me like Twitter

Thanks to the crew for today's return to Doncaster. Great viewing spot halfway down the runway and a 20 minute display before landing. Fantastic to see but bittersweet.
