A car is to be driven, If i had the money I would like to think I would take it once in awhile, and if it had a few mishaps alone the way some be it.

IMHO still the best car ever made.
Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better.

One of his crashes cost 910,000 to fix, after a tree jumped out in front of him.

So its a brand new car AND in the Guinness Book of Records, but with high mileage.

December's Evo magazine ran an story by Richard Meaden with both an F1 and P1 owned by the same luncky blighter.  Both in the same colour, with the same chassis numbers, same number plates, except one P1, the other F1.

I thought it an excellent piece, and have to include a few words from it (thanks Dickie & Evo):

"Yet, .... to drive an F1 is to experience something truly exquisite. To spend enough time with one to have precious, fleeting moments where you’re driving it well is to have a taste of what it’s like to be Viv Richards when he picked up a cricket bat or Eric Clapton when he plays guitar.

I suspect Mr Atkinson will miss it when it goes, I'm sure I would.

Sell one Spitfire and buy a bigger house with a bigger garage plus a few acres for the strip ;D

Can a car be worth a Spitfire and a big house?

Well someone paid $120,000,000 for a 250 GTO '64  ::)

If you wrapped a spitfire around a lamp post you would be in the s@~t.
